Oversight of political parties in Iraq is a fundamental and crucial means of ensuring their compliance with applicable laws and the constitution, promoting democratic practice, and protecting the political system from deviation. Iraqi law, in several articles, outlines mechanisms and establishes foundations for oversight of political parties and organizations. Article 3, for instance, aimed to regulate the provisions and procedures related to the establishment and activities of political parties, achieve the principle of political and partisan pluralism based on constitutional legitimacy, and guarantee citizens&#39; freedom to establish, join, or withdraw from political parties.
