Abstract: (223 Views) |
| In today's international community, discrimination among human beings based on color, race, gender, language, religion, political belief, nationality, social and economic status is considered a reprehensible act. Governments, if not always in practice, at least ostensibly strive to present themselves as implementing policies to eliminate and suppress racial discrimination. Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights explicitly states the right of all human beings to benefit without any distinction. Respect for this right is so essential that the observance of human rights issues has also extended to the field of sports and the International Declaration against Apartheid in Sports was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1977. Subsequently, the International Convention against Apartheid in Sports and the Olympic Charter adopted more precise stances against the crime of apartheid in sports. In this research, the author intends to explain the crime of apartheid in sports and the new forms of this issue using a descriptive-analytical method and by studying the aforementioned conventions and other relevant international documents. |
