Abstract: (4 Views) |
| International terrorism constitutes one of the most heinous challenges facing international peace and security in the modern era; its destructive impact transcends national borders, fundamentally undermining human values and the norms of international law. Amidst escalating armed conflicts and the intertwining of non-state armed group activities with terrorist conduct, International Humanitarian Law (IHL) emerges as the optimal preventive and punitive legal framework for regulating conduct during both international and non-international armed conflicts. Accordingly, this research aims to assess the effectiveness of IHL mechanisms in addressing and combating acts of terrorism, through an in-depth analysis of the treaty-based and customary provisions and mechanisms that support the prohibition of terrorism in all its forms. This is with the use of library information and descriptive/analytical methods. |
