Contraception is one of the most significant issues in contemporary Islamic medical jurisprudence. While Islamic teachings emphasize population growth and procreation, modern social, economic, and medical necessities have made family planning an essential concern. This study employs a descriptive-analytical method using library-based sources to examine the perspective of Imami jurisprudence on contraception methods. The findings indicate that contraception before fertilization is permissible if it does not involve prohibited acts or significant harm. However, any method leading to abortion after fertilization is unanimously considered forbidden by Islamic jurists. Permanent sterilization is only permissible in cases of medical necessity or significant social interests. The study concludes that Imami jurisprudence adopts a dynamic approach by allowing contraception under specific religious conditions.
